After nearly 3 months of consideration, rewrites and revisions, the weapons rules for Midian City have been revised. The details of which are outlines below.
Once the new rules are active (October 4th) anyone using unapproved weapons will face an automatic temp-ban. On the spot, GMs have the final say regarding weapons. Disagreements on rulings should be escalated to your Faction Leader or another GM. This will result in a review of the weapon by the GMs, and will take some time. This will not change the ruling for the current scene. Failure to comply with a GM request will result in ejection from the sim. Arguing with a GM will result in ejection from the sim. Repeat offenses will lead to a permaban.
Please note, we are not prescripting how these weapons disappear, just that after Sunday, Oct 3, they not exist to the general populace of Midian.

GUNS ====
All firearms in Midian will fall into one of seven categories. 1-4 are available to the general population, though it is requested that you roleplay their purchase. 5, 6 and 7 are only available to Legion Marines and Midian Police Department (MPD), and only while on active duty.
Except for shotguns (which have lethal and non-lethal rounds), all weapons within a category would inflict the same damage regardless of relative size or type of ammunition.
Nonstandard firearms such as homemade or improvised guns, or weapons such as airguns, paintball guns, etc. are permitted and not subject to classification provided the ammunition is nonlethal and within theme.
Nonstandard firearms which fire lethal ammunition will be classed as type 1-7 according to the closest similar standard firearm in range, damage, and rate of fire.
Homemade or improvised firearms which exceed the typical type 2, 3, or 4 capabilities require approval in advance from a GM.
Muscle-powered weapons such as slings, slingshots, bows, and crossbows, are NOT firearms and are NOT subject to classification.

The renovation of Apocalypse is slated for June 23rd through July 1. Everyone will be able to move back in on July 2nd. Anyone with prims west of the park will need to pick up all of your prims prior to the rebuild. This will prevent them from getting lost when they're returned to your inventory. We recommend picking them by June 21rst as a safety measure. If you are on the East side of the ruins (The Brownstones, The Dregs, The 4H, etc, you can leave your prims in place.
If you have any questions please contact one of the SMs.
Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation. |

OK so here's the skinny. We're re-opening Apoc, effective immediately. There is one small issue though. The rent boxes for the apartments need to be reset, and Jade is having some issues getting on SL. LL has a ticket open and is working on it - and she thinks it should be resolved in the next few days. Until then though, there's no one to reset the rental boxes for the apartments, so they can't be moved back into just yet.
We were debating keeping the sim closed until everything got straightened out, but the build is done and we know everyone's eager to get back to rp'ing. So we're going to re-open it so rp can start there again, but please bear with us as we work through the issue.
Thanks guys! |

We get a lot of questions on who to go to for approvals to sim wide plots, new drug inventions, new business ideas, new faction ideas, etc. In the past the approval process was somewhat segmented, but we've reworked this to even out the workload & ensure timely reviews.
If you are looking for approval on a new idea please follow the below steps.
-Notecard your idea. Include both the basic outline, who will be involved (both ICly and any people/groups managing from an OOC level), what the expected results are (rp between x, y & z factions, etc) and any other pertitent details. -Once this is completed, request a GM in the main Midian City group. The GM will be able to post your idea in the GM forum for a broader review. Please ensure requests are going through the main group, as we often have the same GM's getting requests and this will help spread the workload. -Wait patiently While your idea is being reviewed the GM's will discuss the benefits of approving it & any areas they see where the idea could be tweaked. This process usually takes about a week. If the idea is "big" (as in a faction approval or something that will it will have a major effect on a large number of players in the sim) the GM's may need to send their review and comments to the SM team for final sign off.
Once the idea has been fully reviewed and discussed, the GM you submitted it to will contact you to discuss the final outcome.
Please note you obviously don't need approval for small things like striking up a conversation with someone. The review & approval process is more for the bigger ideas. The sim wide plots & new business start ups in the city. Things like that.
As always all ideas are welcomed, though we do ask you follow the steps outlined to ensure our GM's still have time for their own RP and the process stays consistent and fair.
Thanks! |
